Chuck Peterson is Senior Advisor, Reservoir Engineering, for Devon Energy located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Chuck’s career has centered on areas from the Louisiana and Texas Gulf Coast, through the Midwest and into the Rocky Mountain area since his 1977 graduation from the University of Kansas (BSCE). On graduation, Chuck had assignments in reservoir and operations engineering with Exxon, USA, in New Orleans and Lafayette. In 1981, Chuck to a position as District Reservoir Engineer with Texas Oil & Gas located in Wichita, Kansas. His 9 year association with TXO subsequently took him to Corpus Christi Texas for two years and finally to Oklahoma City in 1991 with Marathon Oil Company. After 4 years with Marathon and another 4 years as reservoir engineer with SONAT Exploration, Chuck accepted his current position, in 1998, with Devon Energy Corporation. With Devon, Chuck has served as reservoir engineer over properties in both Wyoming and Utah. In Chuck’s current assignment in Wyoming’s Wind River Basin, he was responsible for the identification and evaluation of Devon’s Beaver Creek Madison CO2 flood which was initiated mid-summer 2008. Chuck has also been heavily involved in Devon’s on campus engineering recruiting efforts.
